Field use

Use Pasturize with limited connectivity

Link to guide

Herd record entry, uploads, and approval require a connection. An open or installed app does not guarantee offline saving.

  1. Before leaving coverage, save a current herd export or the reference information you need to your device.
  2. Without a connection, record animal tags, dates, products, doses, and withdrawal details in device notes, photos, or a voice recording. Keep the originals.
  3. After reconnecting, upload or enter the notes, verify the animal identities and effective dates, and review before applying.
  4. If saving times out or shows an error, check animal history and Review Center before retrying to avoid duplicates. A preview is not a saved record.

Set up your account and herd

Link to guide

Create your operation, choose the active herd, add basic settings, then start from the dashboard.

  1. Open Login or create an account and finish the Welcome setup for your operation.
  2. For cattle work, create or select your herd. Check the active operation and herd before entering records; document-only accounts do not include livestock tools.
  3. Open Settings and confirm timezone, weight units, and notification preferences.
  4. Start at Dashboard. Use Livestock for animals, Records for source files, and Review Center for suggested updates.
  5. Try one small upload or note first. Review it, approve only the correct details, then check the resulting history.
Review work

Use the Review Center

Link to guide

Pasturize keeps uploads, audio, imports, and uncertain records in review before records are changed.

  1. Open Review Center and select an item that needs attention. Read the source and the reason it was flagged.
  2. Check animal identity, event date, units, and all proposed details. Correct uncertain fields before approval.
  3. Use Review another item first if a different record needs attention. Leave unresolved suggestions pending rather than guessing.
  4. Apply only the rows you intend to save. Read warnings and exclusions; approval must match the real event.
  5. Open the animal history or relevant record page afterward to confirm the result. Document review alone does not apply a livestock event.
Records

Upload documents, photos, typed notes, or pasted records

Link to guide

Use Records as the main place to bring in source data and keep it tied to what Pasturize extracted.

  1. Open Records, then Upload data. Choose the input that matches your source: text, file, or photo.
  2. For paperwork, include the whole page and readable text. Keep the original file or photo for comparison.
  3. Submit once and wait for upload confirmation. Open Document inbox to check processing status.
  4. When ready, open Document Review Center to compare the original with the extracted information.
  5. For proposed cattle changes, use the relevant review or apply screen and approve only verified rows. If an upload times out, check the inbox before uploading it again.
Livestock

Find and update animal profiles

Link to guide

The Livestock list is the line-item cattle table. Profiles show weights, notes, breeding, photos, and source history.

  1. Search by tag, EID, RFID, name, dam, sire, or notes.
  2. Open an animal profile from the tag or profile button.
  3. Use profile actions for notes, weights, treatments, measurements, photos, and corrections.
Audio

Record cattle working sessions

Link to guide

Record chute work, pasture notes, roll calls, treatments, calving, sales, and exceptions from the field.

  1. Open Livestock working sessions or the audio upload shortcut.
  2. Record or upload the audio and leave the tab open until upload confirms.
  3. Review each extracted card, fix uncertain IDs, and apply only the rows you want saved.
Audio

Handle unidentified roll-call animals

Link to guide

Unreadable or unidentified animals should stay attached to the roll call until they are removed or resolved.

  1. On the review card, choose Remove this unidentified animal if it should not count.
  2. If you leave the card and apply the rest, Pasturize keeps it in that roll call as unidentified.
  3. On the Roll calls screen, resolve it to an existing animal later or remove it from the roll call.
Locations

Manage fences, lots, and roll calls

Link to guide

Locations let Pasturize understand where animals are supposed to be and compare roll calls against that fence list.

  1. Open Locations and create the pastures, lots, barns, or fences you use.
  2. For a move, select the animals, destination, and effective date. Inspect current locations and any conflicts in the preview.
  3. Approve only the intended eligible animals. Check excluded animals and their reasons; dead animals cannot be moved.
  4. Open Roll calls to compare found, not found, and unidentified animals. Resolve an unknown tag against the real animal before assigning it.
Photos and BCS

Attach animal photos and review body condition scores

Link to guide

Photos can be linked to profiles. BCS reviews stay pending until a user accepts or edits the score.

  1. Upload a photo and link it by cattle ID, EID, or RFID.
  2. Open BCS review items when photos are scored.
  3. Accept or correct the score before it appears as reviewed profile information.
Imports

Import herd data and learn from corrections

Link to guide

Use import preview to check columns, duplicates, and proposed changes before herd records are created or updated.

  1. Keep a copy of the original spreadsheet or export. Open Import preview from the Livestock area.
  2. Upload or paste the records using the inputs shown on the page. Check column meanings, animal IDs, dates, and units.
  3. Inspect duplicates and row warnings. Resolve conflicts or leave uncertain rows out; do not merge animals simply because tags match.
  4. Apply only the verified selection, then check Import history and the resulting animal profiles.
  5. Use Import learning or Teach Pasturize for recurring corrections, but still inspect each new preview.
Reports

Use reports and document search

Link to guide

Use cattle reports and searchable paperwork to find information, then verify the source and review status.

  1. Open Herd reports and select the report and filters for the question you want to answer. Check the herd and date range.
  2. Compare important results with the underlying animal history. Resolve relevant pending review items before treating a report as complete.
  3. Use Document search to find paperwork by available text and filters. Check the original document and review status, not just the extracted summary.
  4. Use Settings to export your account data when you need a copy. Keep exported files private.
Settings

Change preferences, vocabulary, and safety defaults

Link to guide

Settings controls account preferences, data tools, import learning, backups, and audio vocabulary.

  1. Set timezone, units, landing page, and notification preferences.
  2. Open Audio vocabulary to teach product names, aliases, and ID rules.
  3. Use backups and account export before large cleanup or import work.
Troubleshooting

When something looks wrong

Link to guide

Use feedback and issue reports when an extraction, review row, or page behavior does not match what happened.

  1. Do not apply a row that looks wrong unless you are intentionally saving it.
  2. Use missed details or review corrections when available on the page.
  3. Send feedback or report an issue with the page URL and what you expected.

Your first ten minutes in Pasturize

Link to guide

Start with one real source and follow it from capture to a checked result.

  1. Sign in, finish setup, and confirm the operation and active herd if you use cattle records.
  2. Open Dashboard to find the main areas. Livestock holds animals; Records holds files and notes; Review Center holds suggested updates.
  3. Choose one small spreadsheet, document, or voice note instead of uploading your whole archive at once.
  4. Upload it, wait for confirmation, and review the source beside the suggested details.
  5. Correct mistakes and approve only what is right. Find the result in document search or the animal history before bringing in more.
Documents

Review a document from start to finish

Link to guide

Keep the original beside the extracted fields. Reviewing paperwork is separate from approving record changes.

  1. Open Document Review Center and select a document from the queue. Use search or filters to find a specific item.
  2. Read the original preview. Use the viewer controls to inspect small print and compare it with the extracted text.
  3. Choose Edit fields when a correction is needed. Check the title, category, date, tags, and other fields against the source; leave unsupported details uncertain.
  4. Save corrections using the available review controls. Use Looks right for a fast-review item only after comparing the source and fields. Leave unresolved items in review and use Needs context or Bad scan when appropriate.
  5. If the document proposes a treatment, weight, expense, or another record change, inspect and approve that action separately. A reviewed document does not automatically create those records.
  6. Find the document again with Document search and confirm its review status and saved fields.
Documents

Connect selected OneDrive folders

Link to guide

Choose the folders Pasturize should import instead of treating your entire drive as farm paperwork.

  1. Open Document sources and use the Microsoft sign-in option when it is available.
  2. Sign in to the Microsoft account containing your documents and review the requested access before continuing.
  3. Select the folders you want to connect and save the selection. Use a small test folder first.
  4. Use Sync now for the connected source, then inspect its status and any error message.
  5. Open Document inbox or Document Review Center to check imported files. Review extracted information before approving record changes.
  6. If access expires or a folder is unavailable, reconnect or update the source on Document sources. Do not repeatedly upload the same files to work around an unresolved sync error.
Troubleshooting

Find an upload that is still processing

Link to guide

Check the existing upload before retrying so the same source does not become duplicate work.

  1. Open Document inbox and find the uploaded filename. Check its status or Source/status link.
  2. A queued or processing item is not yet a reviewed record. Wait for completion before approving extracted details.
  3. If the item reports a failure, read the explanation and check the original for unreadable pages or unsupported content.
  4. Use the available retry or review controls only after checking the existing item. If details are still wrong, keep the item unresolved.
  5. Send feedback with the page URL, filename, approximate upload time, and what happened. Do not include passwords or unrelated private documents.
Reminders

Create and check a reminder

Link to guide

Use the Reminders page to record a task and verify its scheduled time.

  1. Open Reminders and enter a clear request under Create reminder, including the task, date, and time.
  2. Choose Save reminder. Check the calendar or Next reminders list to confirm the saved task and timing.
  3. For repeating tasks, verify the recurrence shown on the saved reminder rather than assuming the request was understood.
  4. Use Settings to check notification preferences. A saved reminder is not proof that a phone or email notification was delivered.
  5. Use the reminder management controls to complete or cancel tasks you no longer need.

Use Pasturize on your phone or Windows

Link to guide

The phone browser and Windows app use your Pasturize account. Record entry still needs connectivity.

  1. On your phone, open pasturize.net in your browser and sign in to your operation.
  2. Keep the browser tab open until a file or voice upload confirms. Allow camera or microphone access only when you need that input.
  3. For Windows, open Downloads and use the current Pasturize installer. Sign in and check the operation before entering records.
  4. If a feature is missing, check account access and return to the website Help Center; document-only accounts do not include cattle workflows.
  5. With poor signal, keep original notes or recordings on your device and upload them after reconnecting. Do not assume an open app saved them offline.
Troubleshooting

Correct a mistake after approval

Link to guide

Check what was actually saved before making a second change.

  1. Open the animal history or document detail and locate the saved item and its source.
  2. Confirm whether the item is a pending suggestion or already applied. Edit pending suggestions in review rather than entering a duplicate.
  3. For an applied item, use the correction controls available on its profile or detail page. Verify the animal, effective date, and replacement details.
  4. Read the correction preview and warnings before confirming. Do not delete another record to hide the mistake.
  5. If there is no suitable correction control, contact support with the item and expected correction. Recheck the history after the correction is completed.
